Health Care Reform Regulations on Termination of Coverage
As part of PPACA, provisions are included to prohibit the carrier or employer from terminating an employee who paid or contributed to premium, to terminate them retroactively. IBC also pushed their change to 30 day retro period to 3Q 2012 eff date.

HHS Issues final rules on Summary of Benefits and Coverage documents
HHS released its final rules regarding the Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and Uniform Glossary documents. Depending on size, health insurers and group health plans will be required to distribute to enrollees on or after 9/23/12.

Minimum Medical Loss Ration Provision
As part of the IBC implementation of the MLR provision of Health Care Reform, IBC will be sending notices to groups in order to classify them as small or large. This is new requirement by HHS and response is needed from employer by 2/20/12.
