Retroactive Termination policy (REMINDER)
This reminder to release made last year, IBC changed their retroactive termination policy from 60 days plus current, to 30 days plus current. This means employers should be prompt with submitting their terminations, as IBC will not go beyond 60 days.

Update on Uniform Summary of Benefits & Coverage
IBC releases guidance on SBC distribution. SBC are required for for renewal or NB as of 9/23/12. SBC's will be abailable on ROAM (for brokers) and IBXpress (for members and employers). IBC will send notices to members 30 days before renewal.

Medical Loss Ratio Update: Rebates
As previously communicated, IBC is issuing rebate checks to some large group and individual customers, which account for less than 1% of their client base. Checks will mail July 10 and we will be providing a list of affected clients.

Supreme Court’s Decision - IBC’s response
IBC releases their update regarding the landmark 5-4 ruling on PPACA, stating the individual mandate is within the power of Congress to impose as its a tax (at its core). Without this mandate, the other aspects of PPACA could not be funded.

Medical Loss Ration Update
All carriers had to report their MLR to government on June 1; and if they fell short issue rebates to affected customers. IBC will issue rebates in their 51+ market, having fallen short by 1.5%, <1% of their 3.1 million members.
