Lipitor coverage to change June 2012 - REMINDER
Reminder that effective 6/1/12, generic Lipitor, called atorvastatin, will be available as a Tier 1 drug on IBC's formulary. Brand name Lipitor will be made a non-preferred drug and placed on Tier 3.

Guaranteed Discount change effective for local groups
Effective January 1, 2013 for new/renewal fully insured business; IBC will no longer use Guaranteed Discount (allowance) in their matierals, rather they will reveal the Actual Discount for that particular provider.

Futurescript corrects pharmacy benefits error
IBC informs us that their PBM, Futurescript, mistakenly permitted members to obtain scripts for medication which was not covered or required prior authorization (without authorization). Issue will be corrected moving forward and letters to be mailed.

Medical Loss Ratio Provision - Update
IBC provides an update on the MLR provision imposed on all carriers due to HCR. On April 1st, IBC submitted a supplemental exhibit to NAIC and PID. While illustrative it will help PID approximate IBC's MLR.

IBC joins HM Insurance Group to offer Stop-Loss products
IBC has entered into a long term agreement with HM Insurance Group to underwrite, quote and administer their [HM] stop-loss products to IBC's self-funded clients. They hope it will streamline admin, improve reporting and turnaround.

Davis Vision resolves contract dispute

Health Care Reform Regulations on Termination of Coverage
As part of PPACA, provisions are included to prohibit the carrier or employer from terminating an employee who paid or contributed to premium, to terminate them retroactively. IBC also pushed their change to 30 day retro period to 3Q 2012 eff date.
