Creditable Coverage Notification for Medicare Part D (UPDATE)
CBC previously released their Rx listing of Creditable Coverage for Medicare part D. Due to changes to the 2013 Medicare model, there was an error in the previously released list. Rx Option 4 with & without Lifestyle are NOT creditable.

Capital Advantage Assurance Company (CAAC) - UPDATE
CBC was approved by PID for new license. Effective 2/1/13, all new or renewing business will be issued under CAAC. New ID cards will go out to impacted members, and new forms are required. See Group Forms section for updated forms.

HSA Rx Snippets incorrect for January 2013
CBC advises that the Rx snippets their HSA plan alternatives on their January 2013 renewals were incorrect. They were not updated to reflect the 2013 Rx changes. Please make sure that your groups are aware of the 2013 Rx design.

Dexilant will have Enhanced Prior Authorization
Effective 1/1/12, Dexilant, a proton pump inhibitor, will be moved to the secodn step of CBC's Enhanced Prior Authorization rule. This means members must try Dexilant, Aciphex, or generic PPI before a non-preferred PPI is issued.

Commercial Two-Tier Generics for 2013
Beginning 2013, CBC will change to a 2 tier generic formulary (preferred and non-preferred); thereby making their formulary a 4 tier product. This change is mandatory for SG, but will be voluntary for large group.

Autism Maximum Benefit Adjustment
The maximum Autism benefit is being adjusted from $36K to $37080 beginning 1/1/13. There will be no rate impact associated with this adjustment. This adjustment will be made to all groups (fully & self insured)

2013 HSA COLA Adjustments (REMINDER)
REMINDER: CBC re-released an update to prior release regarding the 2013 HSA COLA adjustments. The update includes increased minimum deductible amounts. As a result, their PPO HSA 1200Q will no longer be considered qualified.

New Small Group Termination Policy (UPDATE)
Beginning 10/1/12, if a group wishes to cancel their CBC policy, written notice must be received 10 business days prior to the termination date. No exceptions. Prior policy required 30 days prior notice.

Employer Mandate Calculator
CBC has created a Employer Mandate Calculator, online tool available to brokers and group leaders, to help determine if groups shoudl "pay or play". In 2014, due to PPACA, employers with 50+ EE's are required to offer benefits or face penalties.
